UT Permian Basin Volleyball had a furious rally in the fourth set that saw a 14-point turnaround, but Lubbock Christian closed the night out by scoring four of the final five points to defeat UTPB 20-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20, 12-15.

Down two sets to one and trailing 15-6 in the fourth set, the Falcons (10-10) cut the lead to 15-10 with four straight points including a pair of kills by Travana Matthews and a block from Matthews and Haleigh Robinson

Following an LCU kill, the Falcons scored the next six points with kills from three different players, a triple block by Robinson, Cadey Jones and Matthews ,and a pair of attack errors by the Lady Chaps to tie the fourth set at 16-16.

UTPB countered a pair of Lauren Zoller kills for Lubbock Christian to open up the fifth by winning the next three points on an attack by Matthews, ace from Sarah Vasquez, and attack by Robinson.

The Falcons would grab a two-point lead at 7-5 on a kill by Skyler Friel and a Lubbock Christian error, and would hold the same two-point advantage at 10-8 on a Matthews/Robinson block and Megan Ashton ace, but the match was won by the Lady Chaps as they scored five of the next six points to go ahead for the final time with a 13-11 lead. A kill from Marissa Aguilar pulled UTPB within a point, but LCU closed out the contest with the last two points of the night on a pair of kills.
