Falcons Score Late, Force Draw With Lubbock Christian

Down two late in the first half, the UT Permian Basin Falcons fought back to force a 3-3 draw with Lubbock Christian on Saturday.

Lubbock Christian (5-3-3, 3-2-3) started the scoring first on the afternoon when Fernando Flores netted his first goal of the season.  The Falcons (1-10-1, 0-7-1) would answer
back in the 18th minute when Richard Baguio found the back of the net off an assist by Jacob Tellez.  Roughly 90 seconds later, the Chaparrals would retake the lead on a goal by Louis Callaghan.  Emilio Marti would score for the Chaparrals to make it 3-1.

A red card would then force the Chaparrals to play with just 10 men for the remainder of the game.  Oscar Canela would score in the final minute of the half on a penalty kick, his team leading fifth goal of the season, and make it a 3-2 game at the half.

The Falcon offense would take fire on the Chaparrals in the second half.  They would fire 13 shots with the Chaparrals stopping three.  In the 82nd minute, Julius Kracke found the back of the net for the first time this season and the game was tied at three.

In the extra time the Falcons were unable to register a shot on goal while the Chaparrals had one which was stopped by Jameson Sato.  The 26 shots was a new season-high for the Falcons while their 10 shots on goal tied for the season-high.

The Falcons return home next week for a pair of games starting with Rogers State on Thursday, followed by Newman on Saturday.
