The UT Permian Basin Falcons fell to Rogers State 3-0 Thursday night despite chances in the first half.
The Hillcats (7-4-2, 5-2-2) took the lead just 3:23 into the game when Michael Turner headed in a corner kick. The Falcons (1-11-1, 0-8-1) had plenty of opportunities.
Jacob Tellez would get three shots on goal but none would go for a score. The Falcons would take 10 shots in the half, but it was Rogers State who would pad their lead. Erol Banuelos would score his first of the season off a rebound to make it 2-0 heading into the half.
Both teams controlled the ball without many threats in the second half. Rogers State would only get one shot on goal out of nine in the half and it would go in off the foot of Noah Robson for a 3-0 lead. In the final seconds,
Oscar Canela's shot would his the crossbar and bounce away as time as expired.
The Falcons play their penultimate home game of the season Saturday against Newman before hitting the road for the final time this season.
