Raeann Garcia had 12 saves in net for UT Permian Basin women's soccer, but they would fall on the road to Eastern New Mexico 3-0 in Portales.
The first half was a defensive battle but not without chances for the Falcons (2-14, 1-10). In the 14th minute they got their first chance when
Lea Walenta's shot from outside the 18 sailed just high. In the 24th minute
Kalia Beckwith had a chance but her shot went wide of the post. After a Greyhound (7-7-2, 5-5-1) foul,
Lauren Marenco had a chance to head one in but it was saved by the goalkeeper. The Greyhounds were able to break the scoreless tie in the 43rd minute. Charlotte Collins-Blaize headed in a cross just before the half to take the lead.
The Greyhounds would extend their lead in the second half when Collins-Blaize scored on a breakaway to go up 2-0. The Falcons still had their chances in the second half.
Ariel Roybal hit the crossbar in the 76th minute then had her rebound blocked. The Greyhounds would add a third goal which would be the final at 3-0.
Garcia would finish with a season-high 12 saves while the Falcons finished with seven shots as a team.
The Falcons wrap-up the regular season on Sunday in Canyon when they take on West Texas A&M at 1 p.m.
