It was a cold and soggy night for the UT Permian Basin women's soccer home finale, in which the Falcons fell to Angelo State 4-1.
With game time temperatures in the low 40s and a constant rain, conditions were less than ideal for the final home game of the 2018 season for the Falcons (1-13, 0-9). The Rambelles (8-5-2, 6-2-1) looked poised to score first but Trenadey Scott's shot hit the post and bounced away. The Rambelles would again hit a post when Analise Watson hit the crossbar on a shot. The game would remain scoreless until the 30th minute.
Lea Walenta stole a ball deep in Rambelle territory, before passing it
Ariel Roybal. Roybal would bury the one-timer just over the head of the goalkeeper giving the Falcons the 1-0 lead. The Rambelles would tie the game late in the half when Avery McNeme would find a loose ball and score to make it 1-1 heading into the half.
The Rambelles took over in the second half holding the Falcons to just three shots. They would go on to pull away in the second half with three goals for the 4-1 final.
Raeann Garcia would have six saves in net for the Falcons.
The Falcons continue conference play on the road when they head to Wichita Falls to take on Midwestern State before wrapping up conference play on the road next weekend.
