Lauren Thompson broke a scoreless tie in the 87th minute Friday night, scoring her first of the year to send Colorado Mesa to a 1-0 win over UT Permian Basin women's soccer Friday in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Thompson scored on a cross by Halie Bergeron to the middle of the box and scored the only goal of the night at 86:23.

Mesa led the shot total 20-3 on the day. UTPB goalkeeper Chenoa Crites had nine saves on the afternoon on 10 shots on goal by CMU.

The Falcons remain in Colorado this weekend, taking on Adams State Sunday afternoon
