Dee Green scored twice and the UT Permian Basin women's soccer team scored the first three goals of the afternoon on their way to a 3-1 victory at home over Wayland Baptist Saturday afternoon.
Green put the Falcons ahead early on a chip from up close on a pass from
Kessie Stocker after she dribbled down the right side and found Green in front of an empty net for the 1-0 lead at 3:15 into the game.
McKenna Peters gave UTPB much needed breathing room, heading in a cross from
Lauren Marenco in the 72nd minute for a 2-0 advantage.
Green later cleaned up a loose ball in front of the net for the 3-0 lead at 79:47.
Wayland Baptist got its first goal of the season with six and a half minutes remaining on a penalty kick following a foul in the box.
The Falcons dominated possession on the afternoon, out-shooting the Pioneers 23-8 with 13 shots-on-goal to five for Wayland Baptist.
UTPB is back home in a few days, hosting Abilene Christian Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
