Box Score Brandon Lee scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season less than a minute apart Tuesday night as UT Permian Basin men's soccer tied with University of the Southwest 2-2 in the Falcons final non-conference match of the season in Hobbs, N.M.
Trailing 1-0 after Ioan Muresan scored for the Mustangs early in the first half at 20 minutes into the game, Lee tied the contest at 1-1 in the second half on a deflection for his fourth score of the season at 59:46.
Lee needed just 44 more seconds to score again, beating the Southwest keeper on the right side for a 2-1 Falcon lead at 60:30.
Jack Laurie found the equalizer with under 10 minutes remaining by converting a penalty kick after a UTPB foul in the box.
University of the Southwest led the shot tally 14-10, with the Mustangs firing off 9 shots in the first half and UTPB taking 9 attempts in the second half.
The Falcons head into the rest of their remaining schedule with just Heartland Conference games remaining, and face a pair of conference foes this week with Dallas Baptist coming to town Thursday night and St. Edward's coming to Odessa Saturday afternoon.
