Midwestern State handed UT Permian Basin volleyball its first Lone Star Conference loss of the season Saturday afternoon, knocking off the Falcons 22-25, 15-25, 22-25 at the UTPB Gym in Odessa.
The Mustangs hit .296 as a team on the afternoon while holding UTPBÂ to .109, including just five kills with three errors for the Falcons in the second set.
Rachel Dixon led the Falcons with nine kills for the day, hitting .318 to lead the UTPB attack.
Sarah Vasquez led all players in the match with 18 digs, and
Kiera Granado had 22 assists for the Falcons.
Erin Richburg led the Mustangs with 10 kills on the afternoon while Rockelle Gholson hit .545, scoring 7 kills on just 11 attempts.
UTPBÂ takes to the road for its next five games, traveling to Canyon, Texas Tuesday night for a mid-week contest at West Texas A&M.
