#10 West Texas A&M scored the first eight runs of the game Friday afternoon in taking a 9-2 win over UT Permian Basin softball at the UTPB Softball Field in Odessa.

A second-inning three-run home run and a pair of walks with the bases loaded in the third inning helped the Lady Buffs to a 7-0 advantage after three innings.

UTPB got on the scoreboard in each of the fifth and sixth innings, scoring on an Alexis Watson single up the middle to score Cindy Juarez from third, and Juarez later drove in Jessica Gonzalez from second on a pop up deep behind second base on a sacrifice fly.
