UT Permian Baseball dropped a pair of two-run road games Sunday, falling 5-3 and 2-0 at #8 West Texas A&M at Wilder Park in Canyon, Texas.
Trailing 5-0 in the top of the seventh, the Falcons scored three times in attempting to make the comeback. UTPB scored its first on a WTAMUÂ error to score
William Bierlein. Two more runs came in on a
Mike Fernandez single into center to score
Dalton Drury and
Tyler Houlihan.
Beirlein led the Falcons with a pair of hits while
Mitchell Hazlett went 1-2 at the plate with a pair of walks.
Nate Dominguez held West Texas A&M to a pair of runs in game two, both in the bottom of the second on a pair of run-scoring hits. Dominguez gave up eight hits and a walk in the six-inning outing, striking out three.
West Texas A&M's pitchers combined to limit the Falcons to just a pair of hits while striking out 13 in the shutout.
UTPB is back home this weekend, hosting Cameron for a four-game set Friday through Sunday.
