Doug Clapperton started the night off with a lead-off home run and ended the night with 4 RBIs as UT Permian Basin fell on the road at Division I Abilene Christian 13-5 Tuesday night in Abilene, Texas.

Clapperton deposited a 2-2 pitch over the fence in left for an early 1-0 lead to start off the game. The Falcons lead increased on a Mike Fernandez double that scored Jordan Pritchard, and Clapperton made the game 3-0 on a sac fly RBI to score Fernandez.

He drove in his third in the top of the sixth on a single to right with a pair of runners on base to score Fernandez. His double in the top of the eighth scored Daniel Andrade for the team's fifth run.

Clapperton ended the night leading the Falcons with three hits, four RBI and a run scored, while Fernandez went 2-3 at the plate with an RBI and a pair of runs scored.

The Falcons are back on the road this weekend, traveling to Kingsville, Texas, for a four-game non-conference series at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
