UT Permian Basin women's basketball erased a 11-point St. Edward's lead and turned it into a two-point Falcon lead, but the Hilltoppers out-scored UTPB 40-27 in the second half of 62-45 St. Edward's victory Friday night at the UTPB Gym in Odessa.
The Falcons trailed 16-5 early in the second quarter after a 10-0 run spanning over four minutes between the first and second quarters, but got within four points to end the half to trail 22-18.
Heather Crittenden scored the first six points of the second half for UTPB, giving UT Permian Basin its second lead of the game at 24-22.
Bailey Hill helped carry the Hilltoppers in the second half as St. Edward's hit 7-14 from 3-point range in the final 20 minutes. Hill ended the game with seven 3-pointers on the night on 12 attempts, leading St. Edward's with 23 points.
Khali Pippins-Tryon paced the Falcons with 14 points, hitting 4-6 from the field. Crittenden added 12 points on 6-11 shooting.
UTPB is back on the road next week, traveling to Alpine, Texas, for a Tuesday night game at Sul Ross.
