Josh Morris carried UT Permian Basin men's basketball in the first half Thursday night at Eastern New Mexico, and timely 3-point shooting helped the #18 Falcons to an 84-74 win on the road at Eastern New Mexico in the team's Lone Star Conference opener in Portales, N.M.
Morris scored all of his points in the first half, hitting 6-7 from the field to score 12 points with eight rebounds and three assists to help UTPB to a 41-34 halftime lead.
Daeshon Francis turned it on in the second half, scoring 18 pints on 7-8 shooting from the floor with four assists to score 18 in the second half. He ended the game with 28 points to lead all players on the night.
Garrett Baggett hit three 3-pointers in the second half, helping stretch a 6-point UTPB lead out to a 72-59 advantage with 7:08 to play.
The Falcons look to stay undefeated in LSC play this weekend, traveling to Silver City, N.M., Saturday afternoon for a 5 p.m. game at Western New Mexico.
