Brandon Lee scored UT Permian Basin's first hat trick of the season as the Falcons defeated Oklahoma Christian 4-2 Monday afternoon in Heartland Conference action.
The senior forward scored the first two goals of the game for UTPB. He put the team ahead at 13:21 by cleaning up a shot from
Jorge Murillo that was saved but left in front of the net.
His second of the day was a loose ball that he blasted into the right side of the goal at 27:05 for the 2-0 lead.
UTPB went ahead 3-0 near the end of the second half when
Frankie Rodriguez took a cross from
Stefan Faria and shot from eight yards out at 41:47.
Matheus Mantovani grabbed one back for the Eagles, converting a penalty kick five minutes before the end of the half as the Falcons ended the first 45 minutes ahead 3-1.
Lee needed little time in the second half to record his hat trick, tallying his third of the day at 49:46 from six yards out.
UTPB was out-shot 17-14 on the day, with the Eagles placing 10 shots on goal to seven for the Falcons.
Alec Sproule made nine saves in goal for UTPB in earning the victory.
UTPB is back home this weekend, hosting St. Mary's Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the UTPB Turf Field.
