UT Permian Basin volleyball rebounded after dropping the first set Friday night to take the next two, but Texas A&M - Kingsville rattled off the fourth and fifth sets to defeat UTPB 3-2 in five sets Friday night in Odessa in a Lone Star Conference match.

UTPB played with a strong attack in the two sets it won, committing just two errors in winning the second 25-19, and four errors while hitting .370 with 14 kills in a 25-21 third-set victory.

Caitlyn Guahardo tied for the lead with 12 kills on the night and led the Falcons with 4 winners in the first set and three more in the second. Rachel Dixon had four of her seven kills in the third on seven attacks with no errors.

The Falcons hit .117 as a team in the five setter to .208 for the Javelinas. Sarah Vasquez once again led UTPB with 22 digs to lead all players in the match, while Lanai hurd had a team-best 21 assists.

UTPB is home again tomorrow afternoon, hosting St. Edward's in a weekend non-conference contest at 1 p.m.
