UT Permian Basin men's soccer dropped its first match in six contests Thursday night as the Falcons five game win streak came to an end in a 1-0 loss at West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas.
Troy Reeves had the lone goal of the night late in the first half, scoring his fifth goal of the season for West Texas A&M off of a corner kick at 42:05.
Gregory Echols had the best chance for UTPB, hitting the crossbar on an attempt late in the second half.
The Buffs out-shot UTPB 23-10 on the night, ending the 90 minutes with 15 shots on goal to three for the Falcons.
UTPB goalkeeper Alex Sproule made 14 saves on the night, nine coming in the first half.
UTPB closes out the regular season Saturday afternoon at Lubbock Christian. The Falcons have already locked up a spot in the Heartland Conference Championships, beginning next Tuesday.
