Jorge Murillo's fourth goal of the season pushed UT Permian Basin men's soccer to its fourth straight win and a 1-0 win over Eastern New Mexico Thursday night in road Heartland Conference action in Portales, N.M.
UTPB controlled the offensive pace all night, blasting 23 shots, 11 of them on net, but it wasn't until Murillo broke through in the second half that the Falcons took the lead.
Brandon Lee assisted on the goal in the 56th minute. Lee led the Falcons with 10 shots on the night and now leads UTPB with 12 goals and 3 assists on the season.
The shutout win was goalkeeper
Alec Sproule's third shutout of the season and second straight. The senior netminder stopped all five shots on net and improved to 6-3 on the season as UTPB moved above .500 on the year to 7-6-1 overall and 6-5 in conference.
The Falcons close out their home slate this weekend, hosting Lubbock Christian Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
