Falcons Win Third Straight with 2-0 Shutout of Texas A&M International

UT Permian Basin men's soccer picked up its third straight win and shut out its third Heartland Conference team of the season Saturday afternoon as the Falcons blanked Texas A&M International 2-0 at the UTPB Turf Field.

Stefan Faria scored his fourth of the season in the games 22nd minute, firing in a goal off of a saved shot that was loose in front of the net for the 1-0 lead at 21:49.

Jorge Murillo added his third of the year of of a throw in by MIchael Nweke, doubling up the lead over the Dustdevils to 2-0 at 51:26 in the second half.

Alec Sproule notched his second shuout of the season while improving to 5-3 on the year. He faced 15 shots and stepped up to make eight saves on the day, tying his season high from each of the previous two games.

UTPB is next on the road for a single game, traveling to Portales, N.M. Thursday night for a game at Eastern New Mexico.
