UT Permian Basin is now ranked in both major national polls for the first time ever as the Falcons are 25th in this week's National Association of Basketball Coaches Poll, and have moved up to 10th nationally and first in the South Central region with all five first-place votes in the D2SIDA media poll.
UTPBÂ enters action tonight on a six-game win streak in Lone Star Conference play and now sits alone in second place in the LSC with a 7-2 record. 16-4 on the season, the Falcons lead the Lone Star Conference with 89.9 points per game and 45 rebounds per game.
Daeshon Francis (18.6) and
Johnnie Lacy (16) rank fourth and fifth in the league in scoring,
Sammy Allen leads all players in the league with 11 rebounds per game, and
James McPherson ranks first in the LSC with a 41.8 3-point percentage and is second with 3.3 threes per game.
UTPB is back in action at home tonight, taking on Arlington Baptist at 7:30 p.m. before hosting West Texas A&M Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
