UT Permian Basin women's soccer had early chances in both periods to notch the first goal of the evening, but Jamie Boone put the Falcons away with both of the Lady Chaps scores in a span of five minutes in a 2-0 defeat to Lubbock Christian in the first game at the new UTPB Turf Field on the campus of UTPB.

Caitlin Gomez had the first scoring opportunity for both teams saved after just the first two minutes, and the Falcons kept LCU scoreless over the remaining 43 minutes of the first half despite Lubbock Christian attempting the next 11 shots of the game.

Boone struck six minutes into the second half for Lubbock Christian, kicking a curving strike from 20 yards out to the upper left corner for a 1-0 lead. 

Five minutes later she dribbled down the right side and scored inside the right post from close distance to double up the advantage.

UTPB is back in action Monday night, traveling to Plainview for a 6 p.m. road match at Wayland Baptist.
