Ariel Roybal helped UT Permian Basin women's soccer to a 1-1 draw with a late penalty score in a tie on the road against Wayland Baptist in Plainview, Texas.

Virginia Norwood put the Pioneers on the scoreboard towards the end of the first half, muscling her way to the front of the box in the 37th minute.

UTPB dominated on chances on net in the game, taking 13 shots to the four by Wayland Baptist with four shots on net to two for the home team.

Roybal's chance came after a foul in the box on a UTPB corner kick in the 77th minute as she connected on her first goal of the season.

UTPB is back at home twice this weekend, first hosting St. Mary's Friday evening at 7 p.m.
