JJ Von Oesen hit pair of home runs in her last career home game and Zoe Murillo went deep for a grand slam as three homers powered UT-Permian Basin softball to its third win of the weekend 10-3 over Newman at the Odessa High School field.

Newman left its first inning at the plate with a run on a base hit back up the middle, but Von Oesen responded with a three run jack deep to center field for a 3-1 advantage.

The Jets hit their own pair of home runs back-to-back in the top of the fifth to even out the game at 3-3.

UTPB did its damage in the fifth when Von Oesen singled to the gap in right center with two on to score a run and leave runners at the corners, and Murillo came up two batter later with the bases loaded and left the yard over the fence in left.

Von Oesen went deep to center again in her next at bat in the sixth, and Murillo added another RBI in the inning on a double into center.

Von Oesen and Murillo combined to drive in all 10 runs, each responsible for five on the afternoon. Von Oesen led the team with three his and three runs scored.

Randi May earned her third win of the season, throwing the final 2.2 innings after entering tied 3-3. She allowed a hit and walk each, striking out one in the scoreless appearance.
