UT-Permian Basin men's basketball's stay at the 2016 Heartland Championships came to an end Friday night as the Falcons were defeated by Dallas Baptist 90-2 in Tulsa, Okla.
Dallas Baptist closed the game out in the second half by extending an eight point halftime lead after out-scoring UTPB 54-34 in the final 20 minutes while shooting 67 percent from the field (18-27) as they also hit 6-11 of their attempts from 3-point range.
UTPB struggled from 3-point range on the night, connecting on just 2-13 overall from beyond the arc and just one per half.
Codye Hatcher carried the UTPB offense Friday night, hitting 9-14 shots and 7-11 at the free throw line to lead the Falcons with 25 points.
Malcolm Hill-Bey added 11 points on a 5-6 night from the floor.
