UT-Permian Basin women's basketball was never able to get on track Thursday night, scoring just 11 first-half points while struggling to shoot from the field all night in a 61-31 loss at Newman in Wichita, Kan.
The Falcons held a lead after the first quartet with a slight 8-7 advantage, but were out-scored 16-3 in the second 10 minute segment to trail 23-11 at halftime.
UTPB shot just 17 percent on the night (10-58), hitting just 2-30 from 3-point range.
Khadijah Vigil led UTPB with eight points while collecting 10 rebounds, team highs in both.
Shaunice Robinson led all scorers with 25 points for Newman.
The Falcons close out the regular season Saturday afternoon, facing Oklahoma Christian at 1 p.m.
