UT-Permian Basin droped its first two Heartland Conference games of the season Friday afternoon, getting blanked 8-0 and falling 11-3 at home against Oklahoma Christian.

Alyssa Lene provided all of the offense on the day for UTPB, hitting her second home run of the season in the bottom of the first in game two to drive in
Irene Valdez and
Miley McKee for a 3-1 early lead.
Oklahoma Christian scored the final 10 runs of the day, taking back the lead with three runs in the second before putting up a seven-spot in the top of the fifth.
OCU blanked UTPB in the opener, scoring runs in five of six innings itself while holding the Falcons to just two hits by Lene and Redd.
The teams meet in the third and final game of the weekend Saturday afternoon at noon at the UTPB Softball Field.
