UT-Permian Basin baseball ended up on the correct side of a 30-run game Tuesday night, defeating Sul Ross 16-14 in a non-conference midweek road game in Alpine.
The Falcons lead in each of the first two innings, scoring a run in both, and went ahead for good with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth and a four run fifth inning. UTPB scored at least once in each of the first seven innings.
Latrell Harris and
Jack Miller led the Falcons with four hits apiece while Miller scored a game-high five runs in six plate appearances. Five different Falcons had at least two runs scored, while
Kevin Barnes and
Alex Fernandez led UTPB with three RBI on the day as eight different batters drove in a run.
UTPB is back at home this weekend, hosting New Mexico Highlands for a three-game series witha doubleheader kicking off Friday at 12 p.m.
