UT Permian Basin women's basketball picked up its first ever win as a Lone Star Conference member Saturday afternoon when the Falcons defeated Western New Mexico 75-63.
UTPB out-scored the Mustangs 44-29 in the middle quarters to pull away in the game.
The Falcons made 16-20 from the free throw line, connecting at an 80 percent mark while Western New Mexico went to the line just six times on the day.
Four different Falcons ended the night in double figures;
Jau'nae Peevy led UTPB with a season-high 13 points.
Heather Crittenden added 11 points on perfect 4-4 shooting with seven rebounds to tie for the team lead.
Sierra LaGrande had 12 points off the bench while
Jackie Perez hit three 3-pointers with 10 points.
The Falcons go on the road next week for their first Lone Star away contest, taking on West Texas A&M Tuesday night at 5:30 in Canyon, Texas.
