Despite trailing by as many as 13 points in the second quarter, UT Permian Basin women's basketball out-scored Sul Ross 36-26 in the second half to come away with a 69-62 win on the road in Alpine, Texas.

The Falcons were led by Niva Taito and Briana Caro who each dropped 21 points on the night.

UTPB trailed by three at the end of the first half and scored the first 12 points in the third quarter to take a 45-36 lead.

The Falcons went on top for good when Sierra LaGrande hit a three with 3:22 to play in the game to go ahead 61-60. Taito put the game away at the line, sinking her last six free throw attempts in the win.
