UT Permian Basin men's basketball improved to 5-0 through two weeks Saturday night with a 124-101 win over Paul Quinn in Laredo, Texas.
The win was the team's highest point total of the season and the third straight game that UTPB scored over 100 points.
The Falcons shot lights out for the second straight game in Laredo, connecting on 46-82 total from the field (56 percent) while hitting on 65 percent of its field goals in the second half. UTPB also went 22-25 from the line to connect on 88 percent from the charity stripe.
All five starters ended the game with at least 13 points and seven Falcons finished the night in double digits.
Daeshon Francis hit 10-14 from the field to score 22 points. He had a team-high 14 rebounds and added six assists.
Josh Morris hit 6-7 shots and 8-10 from the line to score 20 points in his first start of the season.
Johnnie Lacy scored 18 points with a team-high seven assists to go with seven rebounds.
Zeldric King shot 6-9 on the night to score 15 points with nine boards.
James McPherson hit three 3's in scoring 13 points in the game, and
Vinnie Abbondola and
Andres Villa each added 13 points in a reserve role.
UTPB is back home this Tuesday, hosting Sul Ross at 7 p.m. at the UTPB Gym. Attendance for all fans at home men's and women's basketball games this season is free.
