UA Fort Smith controlled the paint Thursday night, dominating the glass in a 79-42 women's basketball defeat in Heartland Conference play.
The Lions out-rebounded UTPB 44-28 on the night, grabbing 19 offensive rebounds and scoring 50 points in the paint despite only shooting 43.5 percent as a team.
UA Fort Smith hurt the Falcons on possession, forcing 26 Falcon turnovers and scoring 32 points off of turnovers to nine by UTPB.
Khadijah Vigil was a bright spot on offense for the Falcons, hitting all four of ger field goals with a 5-6 night at the free throw line for 13 points to go with seven rebounds to lead the team in all categories.
Jasmine Brainard led UA Fort Smith with 14 points and Candice Followwell double-doubled with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
UTPB is back at home this weekend, hosting Rogers State Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
