UT-Permian Basin men's & women's swimming ended its dual season with a pair of home victories Saturday afternoon, defeating Wayland Baptist, defeating the Pioneers in women's action 143--80 while the men won 128-118.
Three women each had a pair of victories for the Falcons.
Peyton Slater won the 200 freestyle in 1:57.28 and took first in the 400 IM in 4:56.16.
Amanda Alspaugh won the 100 butterly in 1:00.75 and finished first in the 500 freestyle in 5:26.93. Sammi Strohmeyer won the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.12 and took first place in the 50 butterfly in 28.49.
The Falcon women won two relays in their final home event. The team of Slater, Strohmeyer, Alspaugh and Allyson Padilla won the 200 Medley in 1:53.95, and Padilla,
Jennifer Long,
Sarah Waldren and Slater finished first in the 200 Freestyle in 1:42.72.
David de Benito Cabezas won three different events for the UTPB men. He took first in the 200 freestyle (1:49.55), 500 freestyle (5:02.12), and 100 butterfly (54.35). Gustavo Damis Resende won a pair of events in his first dual as a Falcon, winning the 50 backstroke in 26.15 and completing the 100 backstroke in 56.58 to finish first overall.
Homero Cantu Belmares won the 1,650 Freestyle in 17:27.27.
The Falcons are off for the next three weeks before ending the season at the NSISC Championships, hosted by Delta State University in Cleveland, Miss., February 17-20.
