Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Gets Back on Track with 102-88 Victory at Panhandle

UT-Permian Basin men's basketball shot lights out in both halves and Oklahoma Panhandle State had no answer for one of the Falcons' big men as UTPB snapped a two-game skid with a 102-88 win in Goodwell, Okla.

Codye Hatcher had one of his strongest games of the season for UTPB, missing just one of his 12 field goal attempts to lead the Falcons with 23 points and eight rebounds.

UTPB put some distance inbetween themselves and OPSU when Darnell Vandivort connected from downtown and Tramique Sutherland hit a pair of shots at the free throw line for a 26-17 lead midway through the first half.

The Falcons led by as many as 16 points in the first half when Hatcher capped an 11 point scoring run for UTPB with a steal and fastbreak dunk, helping UT-Permian Basin to a 46-33 halftime lead.

OPSU was only able to get within single digist for one possession in the second half as the Falcons passed the century mark on offense for the sixth time this season and first in over a month.

Vandivort added 15 points off the bench, hitting 4-6 from 3-point range. Josh Williams added three more 3-pointers, finishing with 12 points as all nine Falcons to enter the game tallied at least eight points on the day.

Antonio Manns, Jr. led all players and three Aggies in double figures with 32 points and seven rebounds.

UTPB is back at home this Thursday, hosting UAFS at 7:30 p.m. as part of a two-game home stint.
