Johnnie Lacy hit six 3-pointers and helped the UT-Permian Basin men's basketball team to snap a four-game skid in an 83-68 win at home over Oklahoma Christian Monday evening.
Lacy led the Falcons with 14 points in the first half as
Gary Akbar gave the team their first lead of the night in the game's only lead change on a layup to put UTPB on top 16-14.Â
UTPB capped off a nine point run with a
Tramique Sutherland layup for a 21-14 advantage, and later led by a first half high of 11 on a fast break put in by Sutherland.
Oklahoma Christian pulled within four on a 3-pointer by Elijah Strickland three and a half minutes into the second half, but the Falcons led comfortably for most of the final 20 minutes and held a double-digit lead over the last 12:52 of action.
Lacy ended the night with a game-high 25 points, hitting 8-16 from the field.
Codye Hatcher added 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds, while
Gary Akbar was a perfect 5-5 from the floor to add 11 points.
John Moon led the Eagles on the inside with 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists, all team-highs.
UTPB remains home this weekend, welcoming St. Mary's to town Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
