Rafael Moreira picked a great time to score his first goal of the season Friday afternoon, ending UTPB men's soccer's non-conference game with a 2-1 win at Lubbock Christian in overtime at LCU Soccer Field in Lubbock.
Moreira grabbed the game-winner on a shot from the top of the box after a cross by
Caio Toth, scoring at 99:17 of the overtime session.
The Falcons had earlier scored the first of the game when
Joel Barboza chipped it over the keeper for his third goal of the season at 5:56 in the first half.
Tommy Fogarty evened the score with Lubbock Christian's only goal of the day in the 35th minute.
LCU held a 25-12 shot advantage on the afternoon with a slight 9-8 shots-on-goal lead.
Justin Bryant came through with eight saves on the day to pick up his third win of the season.
The Falcons open Heartland Conference action next week, starting a four-game home stand with a Thursday night home game against Texas A&M International.
