UTPB Men's Soccer was in position to win its 2015 Heartland Conference opener Thursday night against Texas A&M International, but Ryan Hodgson scored the final two goals of the night for the Dustdevils in a 3-2 defeat of the Falcons at the UTPB Soccer Field.

Ciaran Connery got the night started in the 10th minute, stealing the ball off of a headed attempt back to the keeper to chip it in for the first oal of the night.

TAMIU evened up in the 22nd when Tayeb Ahmadi took a cross from Josiah Benjamin and scored on a perfectly executed bicycle kick from in front of the left side of the net.

Joel Barboza took the advantage back for the Falcons in the second half, scoring off of a quickly taken free kick at 73:28 for a 2-1 lead.

Hodgson got started late for the Dustdevils, grabbing the equalizer with just under three minutes to play on a shot off the underside of the cross bar to send the game to overtime. 

He scored his fifth of the year three minutes in to the sudden death period to end the game 3-2 in favor of TAMIU.

The Falcons are back in action this weekend, returning to their home field for a noon match against St. Mary's.
