UTPB softball closed out a three-game series at Oklahoma Christian dropping the final game of the weekend 10-4 at Tom Heath Field in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The Falcons took a 3-0 lead early on when
Adrianna Berzoza homered to left field, scoring
Mallory Hall and
Miley McKee for a 3-0 lead in the top of the first.
The Eagles responded in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs, four of them unearned, to clain a 5-3 lead.
McKee took back a run for the Falcons in the top of the fifth, hitting a single into left to drive in
Irene Valdez and close the gap to 5-4.
Oklahoma Christian had its second five-run inning in the bottom of the sixth, hitting a pair of home runs in the inning to go ahead by the final 10-4 score.
McKee led the Falcons with three hits on the afternoon while Valdez and Hall each had a pair on the day as the top three spots of the lineup combined to go 7-11 at the plate.
The Falcons are back on the road next week, traveling to Wichita, Kan., for three games at Newman.   Â
