Box Score 2 UTPB baseball closed out a three-game series against Cameron with a 9-7 victory Saturday afternoon at Roden Field in Odessa. The Aggies earlier took their second win of the weekend with a 4-1 defeat of the Falcons.
Cameron scored early in the opener, getting the first run of the day as part of a three-hit first inning, but left three runners stranded to take a 1-0 lead.
The score held up until the Aggies added a second run on a base hit up the middle with one out in the top of the sixth to go ahead 2-0.
UTPB countered with its first run in the bottom half of the inning when
David Lee scored on a wild pitch from second, but the Falcons left two runners stranded in scoring position to trail 2-1.
Cameron added two more in its last trip to the plate on a two-out double to center to go on top 4-1.
Dirk Masters took the win for Cameron in game one, holding the Falcons to one run and a pair of hits. He struck out eight while walking four in six innings.

Bryan Van Vranken followed with a base hit to left to score
Ryan Souza for a 2-0 lead.
Cameron came back to score three in the top of the second, getting its first on a passed ball and tying the game on a ground out to third. The Aggies went ahead on a one-run double down the line in left to take a 3-2 lead out of their half of the second.
The Falcons reclaimed the advantage in the second, scoring two on a Souza double to centerfield to go back ahead 4-3.
After Cameron scored two more in the third to go in front 5-4, The Falcons tied the game at 5-5 on a Souza single up the middle to drive in
David Fetkenher from second in the bottom of the fourth.
Cameron went back in the lead in the sixth when Cody Knight hit a solo home run to left to lead off the inning.
The lead changed hands once again when the Falcons came to the plate. Souza tied the game again at 6-6 on a single to right, and later scored on a wild pitch to go ahead 7-6.
UTPB added two more runs to its total in the bottom of the eighth when Andrade scored on a fielding error in the outfield, and Souza added the last run of the game for UTPB scoring on a sac fly.
Cameron grabbed a lone run in the top of the ninth, but left the tying run stuck on first in the 9-7 defeat.
John Rodriguez earned the win, throwing four innings of one-run ball in relief to earn his second win of the season.
Ethan Blucher gave up a run in the final three innings of the game to earn his first save of the season.
Souza ended game two 4-4 at the plate, driving in four runs and scoring three times.
Andrade added a pair of hits to go with three runs scored.
The Falcons travel to Fort Worth next weekend, playing Texas Weslyan in a pair of games next Saturday and Sunday.
