UTPB men's basketball won its fourth straight game, earning a 102-82 road victory Friday night against Sul Ross in Alpine.
The Falcons once again got great shooting from its starting lineup as the Falcon starting five ended the night 27-of-44 to shoot 61 percent on the night.
UTPB had all five of its starters in double figures as six players ended the night with at least 10 points.
Gary Akbar and
Mario Fleurima each scored 18 points while Akbar led the Falcons with 11 rebounds and four assists.
Johnnie Lacy contributed 17 points with seven rebounds, while
Tramique Sutherland scored 13 points and
Codye Hatcher had 12.
Billy Dee Williams added 10 points off the bench.Â
The Falcons used a big second half to break away after leading by two at halftime, out-scoring the Lobos 55-37 after leading 47-45 at the break. UT-Permian Basin held Sul Ross State to 34 percent shooting while hitting 62 percent of its baskets after halftime.
UTPB is back in action later this weekend, traveling for a Sunday night 6 p.m. game at Texas San Antonio.
