UT-Permian Basin men's basketball opened its 2015-16 season Saturday night with a 79-77 overtime loss as Marcus Frazier hit a last second layup and free throw to send Texas A&M - Kingsville to a two-point win in Kingville, Texas.

The Falcons led four different times in the overtime session, the final time coming when Johnnie Lacy hit a pair at the line to put the Falcons aead 77-76 with 16 seconds remaining.

UTPB held a sizeable lead early on in the contest, going ahead 12-4 in the first three minutes of the first half as part of a 7-0 run capped by a Malcolm Hill-Bey layup.

Hill-Bey powered the UTPB offense on the night, leading the Falcons with 22 points on 6-11 shooting and an 8-9 effort at the free throw line. Lacy scored 16 points with a team-best seven rebounds and Gary Akbar scored 15 with four assists.

The Falcons take on Colorado State - Pueblo Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. in their second of two games in Kingsville.
