Ashley Redwine scored her first of the year and helped the UTPB women's soccer team to its first win of the season Thursday night, starting off Heartland Conference play with a 1-0 win over Texas A&M International at the UTPB Soccer Field.

The Falcons held the attack advantage all night, racking up 11 shots to three for the Dustdevils, but the breakthrough wouldn't come until the 71st minute of action.

Erica Ancich drilled a dree kick from outside the box to a waiting Redwine in front of the right side of the goal, and facing the free kick, hit a looping header that found the back of the net at 70:27.

Ebony Campbell recorded her first shutout of the season, making three saves on the night to record the clean sheet.

UTPB continues its four-game homestand this weekend, hosting St. Mary's at 2:30 Saturday afternoon.
