Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 UTPB volleyball fell to 1-1 in Heartland Conference play Saturday afternoon with a 19-25, 15-25, 16-25 loss to St. Mary's in the team's first game at the 2014 St. Mary's Classic Saturday afternon in San Antonio. The Falcons dropped their second match of the day in three sets 15-25, 22-25, 23-25 later in the day to Southern Nazarene.

Ryley Carman led the all players on the day against St. Mary's with 13 kills in the three-set match, hitting .258 on the day. Ariana Gallardo had a game-high 22 assists while Taylor Harmon and Jordan McDonald shared the team lead with 11 digs.

Morgann Davis led the Falcons in the loss against Southern Nazarene with 11 kills on just 16 attempts to hit .500 in the match. Carman came back to hit double digits again in kills with 10. Ariana Gallardo tallied 23 more assists in the match while Taylor Harmon had 19 digs to lead all players.

The Falcons are back in action in two days, returning home for their first home match of the season. They take on Western New Mexcio at 3 p.m. Monday afternoon at the Falcon Dome.
