Baseball Season Ends with 5-4 Loss at #8 Lubbock Christian

UTPB baseball's 2014 season came to an end Saturday afternoon with a 5-4 defeat on the road to #8 Lubbock Christian at Hays Field in Lubbock.

Trey Cochran went 4-5 at the plate on the day as one of three Falcons with multiple hits and ended the day with a run and an RBI.

Trailing 3-0 through four innings, UTPB got its first run of the day in the fifth when Cochran singled through the right side of the infield with two outs to score Colin Kowal from third.

With the score remaining 3-1 two innings later, the Falcons came through with three runs in the top of the eighth to take their first lead of the game. Brian Brademan drove home Cochran for the first run of the inning and Ryan Arrick scored a batter later on a double by Daniel Andrade to tie the game at 3-3. Brademan later scored on an infield fielders choice to take a 4-3 lead.

Lubbock Christian would take the lead back in its first chance at the plate, scoring two on a two out single into right field for the tying and winning run.

UTPB out-hit Lubbock Christian 12-11 on the day with the Chaps holding a 4-2 walk advantage.
