UTPB baseball needed extra innings to win its second come-from-behind game of the weekend Saturday afternoon in a high-scoring affair as the Falcons took down Texas A&M International 12-9 in 10 innings.
Tied at 9-9 through nine innings, the Falcons grabbed their first lead since the first when
Brian Brademan bunted with the bases loaded for a single to drive home
David Lee. Later in the inning
Andrew Grifol scored a pair on an infield single with two outs for a 12-9 advantage.
Brad Paramapoonya ended the game in the bottom of the inning, getting a swing ad a miss on a full count with the bases loaded to leave the tying run stranded on first to wrap up his sixth win of the season.
Both teams scored the majority of their runs in big innings.
Ty Morgan tripled with the bases loaded to score three of UTPB's five runs in the top of the first.
Texas A&M International scored four time in each of the second and fourth innings to go on top 8-5.
Michael Resnick got another hit with the bases loaded in the sixth, driving home everyone aboard on a double before being thrown out at third to tie the game at 8-8.
Each team tallied a run in the eighth, the Falcons scoring theirs when Lee grounded out to third to score
Neil Madsen.
Resnick led the team with four RBI on the day while
Andrew Grifol went 5-6 at the plate with a pair of runs and two RBI. He ended the series with eight RBI and a .615 batting average (8-13) with five runs.
UTPB enters the final week of the regular season, playing Abilene Christian once on the road before traveling to Lubbock for three games against Lubbock Christian.
