UTPB Women's Basketball led early on and trailed by one at halftime, but St. Mary's pulled away in the second half for a 23-point 70-47 win over the Falcons Thursday night in San Antonio, Texas.
Keyondra White was big in the early minutes for UTPB, scoring 11 of the team's first 19 points by hitting each of her first four shots, three of them from 3-point distance, to help UTPB to a 19-10 lead through the first 10 minutes.
St. Mary's used a 13-point run to tie the game at 19-19 with 6:48 remaining in the first and took a four-point lead a minute later.
Valerie Barriga hit a pair at the line with 55 seconds left for the final points of the half to head into halftime trailing 29-28.
 The Falcons came back in the second half to pull in to the lead twice, going on top on baskets by
Danielle Wilson and White in the first three minutes to take a one-point lead.
Success proved to be short-lived for UTPB when the Rattlers out-scored the Falcons 18-2 to go ahead by 15 points at 51-36. St. Mary's led by no less than 13 points the rest of the game and by as many as 25 in the 23-point win.
White tied her season high with a team-best 17 points, hitting 7-of-10 from the field on the night.
Shaquiri Graham added 11 points to go with a team-best 12 rebounds.
Jackie Woods led all scorers in the game with 18 points for St. Mary's.
The Falcons stay on the road this weekend, traveling to Laredo, Texas, for a 1 p.m. game Saturday afternoon against Texas A&M International.
