UTPB men's basketball suffered its third straight close loss Saturday night, falling on a last-second shot 77-75 at home against Rogers State.

Trailing by one under a minute, Anthony Dees hit the first of three free throw attempts to tie the contest at 75-75, but was unable to give the Falcons the lead on the next two.

The Falcons had the final chance of the night, but their deep inbounds pass 3/4 of the court was intercepted by Jeylyn Sharpe as time expired to close out the game.

UTPB trailed by as many as five in the first half but grabbed the first sizeable lead after halftime, scoring eight straigh points to build a one point advantage out to a 50-41 lead five minutes into the second half.

The Falcons led by as many as 10 points on one of Dees' five 3-pointers as he matched his season-high behind the arc with five triples and scored a game-high 22 points.

Dwayne Soders added 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting to go with a team-best nine rebounds.

Five scorers ended the night in double figures for the Hillcats, led by Damien Hooks and his 17 points, 13 of them in the second half.

The Falcons are back at home this week, hosting Oklahoma Christian at 7:30 Thursday night with a Saturday afternoon contest against Dallas Baptist set for 2 p.m.
