Box Score Malcolm Hill-Bey led all players with 23 points and nine rebounds and
Phadarius Taylor added 20 points and seven rebounds as UTPB went on the road to take an 81-65 win at Eastern New Mexico Tuesday night at Greyhound Arena in Portales, N.M.
Hill-Bey (8-of-15) and Taylor (6-of-10) helped UTPB shoot 50.8 percent from the field while the Falcons held the Greyhounds to just 36 percent shooting on the day.
UTPB trailed early on, falling behind 13-9 a little over four minutes into the game, but went up by four as part of an eight point swing with a pair of threes coming from
Lamar Falley to go on top 17-13.
The Falcons later scored eight straight with five points from Taylor and a three from Hill-Bey to increase their lead out to 30-19.
UTPB led by 14 two different times in the first half on threes from Hill-Bey and Falley, and went into halftime leading 47-37 on a layup by
Madison Turner on the team's final offensive possession.
The Falcons were never in danger of losing the lead in the second half, leading by a game-best 17 points three different times while keeping the lead in double figures for the last 20 minutes. Taylor and Hill-Bey each scored 10 points after halftime.
UTPB is back on the road this weekend, traveling to San Angelo for a 6 p.m. non-conference contest at Angelo State.
