UTPB men's and women's swimming each picked up two more wins Saturday afternoon at the UTPB Tri, with the men earning a one-point, 103-102 win against Wayland Baptist and a 142-53 victory against St. Gregory. The UTPB women defeated Wayland Baptist 136-36 and earned a 146-10 win against St. Gregory at COM in Midland.
The UTPB women earned wins in nine of 11 events on the afternoon led by
Lauren Porras and
Peyton Slater each winning a pair of events. Porras took first in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 25.94 and won the 100 Freestyle in 56.21, while Slater won the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:02.55 and later finished first in the 500 Freestyle in 5:32.42.
Sammi Strohmeyer won the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:19.99 and tied with
Courtney Johnson in the 50 Backstroke with a result of 30.21.
Amanda Alspaugh added a win of 29.34 in the 50 Butterfly, and the UTPB won relays in the 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle.
Alex Ruata won a pair of events for the UTPB men. He finished the 200 Individual Medley in 1:57.46 and won the 50 Breaststroke in 26.81.
Jack Maloy earned a victory in the 50 Backstroke and the men's team in the 400 Freestyle took first.
UTPB is back in action next weekend, traveling to the Southwest Shootout in Southlake, Texas.
