Box Score UTPB men's soccer scored a late second half equalizer in its 2014 Heartland Conference opener at Lubbock Christian, but the Chaps came back two minutes later for the game-winner and added a third score before the end of a 3-1 defeat at the LCU Soccer Field Monday afternoon in Lubbock, Texas.

The Falcons went down 1-0 in the first half when Mitchell Hopkins found the back of the next on an assist from Lennard Hansen at 8:56.

UTPB trailed by a goal over the next for the next 65 minutes until Nathan Cotterell converted a penalty kick for his fifth goal of the season in the 75th minute to knot the contest at 1-1.

The Chaps were awarded a penalty of their own two minutes later, and Stewart MacDonald reclaimed the lead for LCU at 76:16.

Tristan Wehner added a third score for the Chaps four minutes later on a pass from Chase Williams at 80:47.

The Falcons return to conference action this weekend, traveling to San Antonio for a 7:30 p.m. contest Saturday night at St. Mary's.
