Volleyball Falls 3-0 at Angelo State

Box Score UTPB volleyball suffered its second loss of the season in two matches to  Angelo State Tuesday evening, falling in three sets 18-25, 15-25, 22-25 in San Angelo.

Ryley Carman led the Falcons with 12 kills on the night, hitting .265. Morgann Davis added seven kills along with hitting a team-best .313.

The Falcons came out and matched the Rambelles point-for-point in the second set and took a 12-10 lead in the set on four straight points, getting three on kills from Carman. UTPB got just three more points total over the remainder of the second set as Angelo State scored 10 of the last 11 to take a 10-point victory.

UTPB led by as many as five points in the third set, scoring six of seven points to go on top 16-11midway through the third. After an ASU rally pulled the home team even at 17-17, UTPB scored the next four on a pair of kills from Davis and a double block by Davis and Carman and solo block by Carman to lead 21-17. Angelo State came back with a furious rally to end the match, scoring eight of the final nine points of the evening to take the third set 25-22.

UTPB is back on the road this weekend, traveling to Lubbock for a 3 p.m. Heartland Conference match at Lubbock Christian.
